               SELF-DEFENSE IS NATURAL, BUT SURVIVAL NEEDS TRAINING




     As we all very Busy Doing our Business, Job, Studies, etc., We don't have time to observe what is happening in our Body and the Nature of our body. Understanding our Body and Internal is a Spiritual thing, We don't have to go deep in to spirituality as we don't have time to thing about it but we must spend time to thing about our body to keep it healthy and safe. All species have the Natural ability to Reflex against any kind of harm happening to them. As per the above picture before we put our leg fully in a nail our body quickly response to safe ourselves, before someone slaps you your eyes getting closed and your cheek muscles getting tighten to receive that slap without hurting your face much, sometimes your hand tries to block the attack and your body may make a move to escape from the slap. The reflexes will be different from person to person according to their daily activities and body capabilities. If one trained to Block the attack he/she will definitely block the attack because their muscles and brain been practicing that plenty of time and it is programmed in the brain and well as muscles.

 

     A Natural ability of a body is reflexes but it doesn't mean it will be a successful survival in a fight or violence. For example if you don't know swimming and falling in a small pool your body automatically tries to survive and your hand and legs will swing and your eyes will check for the closest place to reach and your body will rise your face above the water to breath, everything will happen without our knowledge to make survival and mostly the body will survive in that situation. But if it is a deep big pool or lake or ocean even if our body do its best, it won't survive. If we practice our body to swim a lot and make it as its natural ability then we don't afraid to jump in to the ocean( still there is a limit for everything). same as swimming, Martial art training will make our body to survive in the situations when it needs. We are all living in different identities in life such as Humans,Male, Female, Children, Adults, Business man, Rich, Poor, etc. etc., but all our body loves to survive in a same way as long as possible. for example if you close your mouth and nose with your hands for few minutes, your body will release the hands very soon because your body loves to live your life. So whatever we love to do in our life we need to use our body but our body loves to survive. For survival in this dangerous world it is better to train our body and mind everyday.

     In Martial arts we train our body to survive in Self-defense situations, and we train our Mind to keep us away from such kind of situations. The survival must be a natural ability by regular practice. as Bruce lee said when there is an opportunity, your should not fight back your body should do it naturally. Learning and practicing are two different things, Learning will not save us, practicing will.
