Understand Martial Arts Spiritually and Fight Fearlessly
Hi all!
I hope everything is fine in the universe, even though our planet has been affected by the coronavirus. LOL! 😄
Okay, today I want to discuss an interesting and important subject to explain why I believe martial arts is a spiritual art.
And by the end of this blog, you will understand why we don't need to be afraid to defend ourselves against anyone who tries to mess with us.
Martial Arts vs. Martial Sports
When I say "martial arts," I want to make it clear that I am not talking about martial sports, which are based on points or fighting in a ring or cage.
I am going to talk about martial arts that are based entirely on using energy rather than brutal physical power.
You may ask me, "How can beating a person be spiritual?"
Okay, let me explain.
I believe that being united is spiritual. We are all made up of atoms, cells, or whatever terms scientists use to describe our physical existence.
If we all come together as one, we are simply the universe itself, not separate beings as we perceive ourselves to be.
In the name of evolution, knowledge, religions, cultures, and technology, we have separated ourselves from one another. Yet we proudly claim that we humans are the most intelligent beings on the planet!
Okay, now let's move from the funny part to a serious discussion.
Understanding Unity Through Martial Arts
As I mentioned above, if all of us (atoms) were united, we would simply be one universe, with nothing to fight against one another about.
But through our evolution and what we call our sixth sense, we started thinking and identifying ourselves as something separate from what we truly are.
Now, let's look at this from a fighting perspective, since that is the subject we are trying to understand.
Your Opponent Is Just You in a Different Living Experience
In a fight, when you connect with your opponent, even the slightest physical contact can make you experience your opponent as an extension of yourself.
It may be difficult to understand, but if you continue learning and practising martial arts according to its principles, you may eventually understand what I mean.
Your opponent is simply you, living a different experience.
You can avoid that person (atom) hurting you by avoiding the situation altogether.
However, sometimes the situation becomes worse, and your opponent may launch the first attack against you.
Now, when you begin defending yourself, the first thing you must do is connect with your opponent's energy.
Once you establish that connection, your opponent becomes an extension of you.
Understanding Your Opponent as Part of Yourself
When a part of your body is malfunctioning and you cannot correct it, what would you do?
In extreme situations, you may have to remove that part of your body if it becomes medically necessary, right?
For example, when people with diabetes develop severe injuries or complications in their legs or hands, doctors may sometimes have to amputate the affected parts with the patient's consent.
Similarly, when you connect with your opponent and begin to experience them as part of yourself, you can decide what action is necessary to stop the threat.
It is easier to control your own body than someone else's, isn't it?
So, through connection, learn to experience your opponent as an extension of yourself and perform whatever defensive action is necessary, as though you were operating your own body.
Understanding Fear, Energy, and Existence
If two atoms unite, they can form something stronger. But when they oppose each other, their connection may break.
In my philosophical understanding, the fundamental energy of existence does not simply disappear.
So, when someone tries to destroy you, do not hesitate to protect your life. Remember that the person attacking you is also part of the same existence.
If you are physically weaker than your opponent, don't worry!
From a spiritual perspective, I see our fundamental existence as something beyond the temporary human body.
But since we are all living as human beings, with our so-called sixth sense, we have many things to take care of. LOL! 😄
So, we need to stay alive, protect ourselves when necessary, and fight to live!
All the best!
I hope at least a few martial artists will understand the deeper meaning of this blog.
Thank you all, and be united! 🙏
